Dog parks in Huntsville

Parks are listed in alphabetical order; designated leash free parks * are on top. Maps indicate the exact location of the dog park even within larger parks.

 Freedom Dog Park

Near the ball diamonds off Ravenscliffe Road (west of OPP station).

Fully fenced, some benches, lots of trees, nice pond for swimming. Small dog/puppy area. The pond shoreline is a little mucky (clay), and there is no fence to keep dogs away from the pond (pond itself is within fenced area), so don't go if you don't want a wet, mucky (and really happy) dog!

Lots of parking.

Not sure if year-round as it looks like the Rotary Park area may be closed in winter.

Came there while on vacation last week. Lovely park. Gates need to be more secure for those that are runners ie. the gate to the flyball area should have a latch. Friendly people, nice dogs :)

Was there last month for soccer. Awesome location at the sports complex. My little guy had fun, enjoyed your benches. The only thing I would suggest would be larger sign's at your field entrances, as I didn't see the Park the first day, second day because we had to park at that end of the lot is how I discovered it.

My dogs and I just got back from this park and they had a blast! The people were really nice and the dogs had a great time with each other. I live in Parry Sound so it was about an hour's drive but soooooo worth it! I will be going back again very soon. Its nice that its open in the winter time and its very well built.

The park is wonderfull and so far the road has been plowed for winter use. A new fence with a gate has been added to section off the pond so the dogs can't access it unless the owner lets them in. We really needed that right now as the pond is only partially frozen and we don't want our pets falling through the ice.

It doesn't have to be an "official" off-leash park, any dog friendly area has its place on our website. If you feel comfortable taking your dog there and have good experiences then we want to hear about the place! Thank you all for the updates.

Ask your friends to donate to animal rescue organizations and shelters instead of buying you presents for your birthday or for Christmas. Learn more at the Donate to Dogs website.
