Dog parks in Aurora

I was horrified to read Elektra's account of the vicious German Shepherd attacks, and hope she passed on all the information to the police and animal control. I would like to bring my dog to the park, but would appreciate others' comments about introducing him to the park and dogs therein. I have not used a dog park before and my dog, a Walker Coon Hound is friendly, but a little fearful of dominant dogs.

Today was not a good day but usually we have great fun at this park.
My husband and I were there with our two dogs. Another friend of ours was there with his dog s well. We were all having good fun with the other dogs, as we ALWAYS do. Once the other dogs all left we were heading towards the exit to soon call it a day.
There was a guy in a light colour MPV van with a large German Shephard. Once out of the van, the dog was not on leash and ran across the parking lot. The guy called it, it did not listen so he went over to it and kicked it in the back. I told my husband that this guy is trouble. No sooner was his dog at the fence baring its teeth and barking at one of my dogs . As always, the dogs were all there to see who the new dog was coming in. I didnt like the aggression the shephard had and told the guy to wait and not come in untill I got hold of my dogs, again his dog was NOT on leash. Like the dog, the owner did not listen,the guy just called his dog and opened the gate. His dog ran straight for my dog and started to bite her. I was screaming to the guy but he just stood there like a complete idiot. The shephard was attacking all the dogs at this point, again the owner did nothing. Us three all put our dogs on leashes and the guy stood there staring at me saying my dog is not aggressive and has never done that before.

I dont even know the dog yet it was aggressive outside the fence, before it even got into the park.
We left while the crazy guy said nothing else, no sorry about my dog attaking your THREE dogs. Once in the parking lot, our friends dog was bleeding from the face and paw. He was then off to take his dog to the vet.
I do hope the owner of the Shephard realizes that he IS responsible for his dogs actions.
I have pictures of the blood all over the ground, the dogs face and paw. Ow and I also have pictures of the guys van and licence plate.
Since I am at this dog park a few times each week, I do hope he will never return.
I understand that this is a public dog park, however, be a responsible owner and do not bring an unstable aggressive dog to a public park again.

I will continue to go to this park as the people are nice and the dogs all have a great time playing. One crazy guy with an unstable dog will not stop our good times.

This is a pretty good park. Fairly small. Prepare for you and your dog to get dusty! There's really no grass, just dust/dirt and some wood chips. There is a small semi-circle path to walk around, to the side of the open area. Encountered the odd aggressive dog there, but not too bad.

For those who have a hard time locating the Aurora Dog Park, I suggest you type in the Address "330 Industrial Pky N Aurora, ON" into MapQuest. Across the road from that address is the actual dog park. If you use the street view feature, you can actually see what the dog park looks like.

It doesn't have to be an "official" off-leash park, any dog friendly area has its place on our website. If you feel comfortable taking your dog there and have good experiences then we want to hear about the place! Thank you all for the updates.
