The Beltline Trail

Between Allen Rd. and the DVP View map

The Beltline is a trail, mostly fenced-in, made by reclaiming an old railway line. It connects to several ravines and parks. It extends from The Allen expressway, east through ravines past Forest Hill, over Younge St on a railway bridge, and across the top of Mount Pleasant Cemetery, ending at Mount Pleasant Road.

More info on directions and access points here: Belt Line Bike Trail

It is great for dogwalking, or bicycling with your dog, and is popular with walkers, cyclers, joggers and dog owners. Many dogs are off-leash although I'm not sure if there are fines. The best part is that it is mostly fenced in, and shady. It's a good place to go on hot days or evenings, and in the fall you can see the leaves change colour. There are water fountains, some with dog bowls and benches along the path near Mt Pleasant Cemetery. You will have to cross a few busy roads so keep your dog on a leash until you know where it is safe.

It doesn't have to be an "official" off-leash park, any dog friendly area has its place on our website. If you feel comfortable taking your dog there and have good experiences then we want to hear about the place! Thank you all for the updates.
