 Bramalea Community Park

Highway 410 and Williams Parkway View map

Accessible from Williams Parkway East, park is on the North side just after you pass Hwy 410. Note: you can only enter the park travelling west on Williams Parkway.

The Bramalea Community "off leash" Park (BCP)has 2 areas - 1 for smaller dogs and 1 for larger dogs ... like most parks, everyone seems to use the larger pen. The park is designed oddly on a hill. This causes obvious problems when the ground thaws or ir rains. Water and mud trough at the foot of the hill and elevated pavement and covered area where Tim Horton's toting owners gather.

The off leash area isn't bad ... 3 stars. The best part of the BCP is non-off-leash area. There are many sports fields and a huge natural habitat re-growth area. After noticing many dogs and their owners walking the fence line that boarders the 410 Hwy side ... I followed suit. While I don't advocate breaking city ordenances ... this walk is much better than the off-leash park. I have heard that city animal control sporadically patrols the park ... I know of one owner who was given a polite warning. I've taken my dog along the warn fence-line path at least 20 times this summer and have have no issues ... I trypcally go in off peak hours during the week and wekend. I don't reccommend this walk while soccer and baseball season are in full swing ... unless your dog is on a leash.

If you live in the Brampton area ... it's worth the visit.

I went to this park on the afternoon of October 2, 2011 with my brittany pup, and we ended up having the place all to ourselves for a good half hour. It was clean and clear of any dog poop. It had rained for a couple days previous, and while there were some muddy patches, none got her seriously dirty. Running around in the grass cleaned off any mud she got on her paws. If there was any agility equipment at some point, it's all gone now, with plenty of newish looking trees in place (at least in the small dog area). There are lots of water bowls all over, along with a working water hose. Plenty of bags for cleaning up after your dogs too.

this is a great park for dogs with both an area for smaller breed dogs and an area for medium to large breed dogs --both with agility training areas. HOWEVER, it is up to the OWNERS to abide by the rules clearly posted and also common sense (which is clearly not so common). I have two small breed dogs who enjoy the smaller fenced area, but some ignorant dog-owners still seem to bring large breeds dogs in there, in which case, i am forced to leave as i will not put my small dogs in danger of large breeds who just want to play, but their OWNERS dont realize that there is a reason for the fence! i am perplexed by this! and to top it off, these rude dog owners today in particular who had their two large dog breeds in the smaller area proceeded to try to tell me the reason their dogs were in there was because they were puppies -- there's a difference between your 40 lb puppy and my 7lb puppies. ignorance is not bliss.

The park is nice. I use the small park most of the time because the some of the big dog owners do not watch thier dogs enough and do not pick up after them. I have seem people come in and sit at the benches with thier backs to the park. How can you be watching your dog? The benches should be replaced with solid benches as some dogs jump up on them and get thier paws caught. Overall I like it

I went to this park by chance. Wonderful place complete with benches and doggie bags provided by the city. My dog got lucky as there were at least ten dogs to play with. And I got lucky because I met some wonderful people to talk to.

This is my regular dog park, it does have one spot that can get muddy after rain fall and stays that way for a day or two. It does have a bench, gazebo type thing and the fence is in good order. Also there is a wonderful paved path system right behind the park and a stream were my dog can walk in easily. Which on the hot days is great for cooling him down. Plus water tape right out side the entrance gate.
Good park!

 White Spruce Park

Heart Lake Road / Bovaird View map

Entrance if off of Heart Lake Road (to the west), follow the road into the parking lot. Dog park is right by the tennis courts.

No details yet...if you take a look at the map it seems like it's a fair size park in a nice park with no high-traffic roads nearby in a residential area. If I lived in Brampton I'd definitely give it a try.

This is one of the three designated off leash parks operated by the city of Brampton.

I take my dog here all the time. The only drawback is that there is no water supply, it's BYOW. I have never seen any family restrictions, everyone I meet there is very friendly, and relaxed about their dogs. There is a nice (small) wooded area to ramble through, and a small dog area. It's my favourite of the three parks in Brampton

Families are not welcome at this park - it is adult only. I'm not sure why this rule is necessary, but have to assume the dogs attending are the reason, since we've never run into this anywhere else.

I don't know if the other off leash parks in Brampton are the same, but I do know the ones in Mississauga are family friendly and generally have responsible owners with well socialized dogs, bring the kids.

This is not an off-leash but a great secret park for dog walks. Parking is in the front entrance off of highway 50. There are some wild spots and some trails.

The signs posted around the park remind owners to keep their dog on a leash. I do I have seen folks not but in some of the wild spots I don't want to lose doggy as he goes after a deer. (we saw one on a recent visit).
This is a great quiet place for a hike

As for any wilderness, conservation area, don't leave them off-leash around dawn or dusk, for fear of coyotes. That is especially true for small dogs, which would make a good dinner for a coyote. Be alert, that's all.

Claireville is a wonderful area to walk, just as humans, or humans and canine. I have walked there many times with my older dog. She doesnt go far from me. Historically, I have let my girl loose. There was a "silent understanding" that if you see a dog in the distance... is it leashed? yes, leash yours. no, then continue unleashed. I have heard there have been tickets handed out for having your dog loose. Sorry, nuts! I have spent hours walking my old gal, and sometimes I dont see anyone closer than a half mile or mile away... and my dog stays close, and doesnt bother the wild life. Sure she chases a squirrel once in a while, but they can so easily get away from my old gal.

It doesn't have to be an "official" off-leash park, any dog friendly area has its place on our website. If you feel comfortable taking your dog there and have good experiences then we want to hear about the place! Thank you all for the updates.
